Customer engineering staff provides drawings (DXF, DWG, STEP, or PDF). In-house engineers evaluate for manufacturability and program CNC machine tool paths via CAD design software. Diamond tooling and in-house continuous coolant flow eliminate thermal shocks during cutting. Finished glass is CNC profiled and edge ground, then tempered, surface processed and inspected into a controlled-clean room facility with vacuum export packaging designed for international delivery.
Design Consideration
All CNC work must be completed prior to heat-treating as tempered glass cannot then be cut or drilled. This consideration should be taken into account early in design development: lock down your cutout and outline dimension requirements before booking production.

CNC glass machining uses computer numerical control technology to precisely cut, drill, mill, grind, and polish glass materials. The CNC machine follows programmed CAD/CAM instructions to achieve tolerances as tight as ±0.05 mm — enabling complex geometries that manual processing cannot replicate consistently.
Common types of glass we CNC machine include soda-lime glass, aluminosilicate (Gorilla Glass), borosilicate, low-iron ultra-clear, quartz, and fused silica. Each glass material requires specific diamond tooling parameters — borosilicate needs slower feed rates due to higher hardness.
No — all CNC machining must be completed before tempering. Tempered glass shatters if machined after strengthening. The correct sequence is always: CNC machining → cleaning → tempering → surface treatment → inspection.
Our CNC machines achieve ±0.05 to ±0.1 mm dimensional tolerance. Hole positional accuracy reaches ±0.05 mm. Chemical strengthening parameters verified post-process: CS >450 MPa, DOL >8 μm.
Chemical strengthening uses ion exchange in molten salt at ~400°C — works on glass as thin as 0.4 mm, achieving CS>450 MPa. Physical tempering heats glass above 620°C then rapidly cools it — requires ≥3 mm thickness but produces safety-shatter pattern per EN 12150.
AG (Anti-Glare) etching creates a micro-textured surface reducing reflection. AR (Anti-Reflective) vacuum coating achieves >98% transmittance. AF (Anti-Fingerprint) hydrophobic coating provides water contact angle 105°±5°. All applied in-house at our factory.
Cost depends on glass material, part complexity, surface treatment, quantity, and tolerance. As a China-based direct factory, we offer globally competitive OEM pricing. Tooling charges are typically waived for orders above 5,000 units. Submit your drawing for a detailed quotation within 24–48 hours.
We support prototype runs from 50 pieces for design validation, and scale up to 1,000,000+ pieces annually for OEM production runs. Start with a prototype to validate specs before volume commitment.
Production: 7–15 business days. Prototypes: 5–7 days. International shipping from our Guangdong factory adds 3–7 days by express courier (DHL/FedEx) or 20–30 days by sea freight.
Yes. SW Glass exports to over 30 countries across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. We handle export documentation, customs-compliant vacuum packaging, and arrange air/sea/express shipping. English-speaking project managers ensure smooth communication throughout.
